Safety Essentials

Protective equipment, field procedures and responsible behaviour should always come before performance.

CQC Safety Framework

Safety Is Our Top Priority

Responsible airsoft starts before the first game begins. The CQC Canada Centre focuses on three simple principles: understand the rules, protect yourself and respect the wider community.

01

Know The Rules

Requirements can depend on location and circumstances. Verify current information from the appropriate Canadian authorities and the facility you are attending.

02

Protect Yourself

Inspect required protective equipment and follow the safety requirements established by the field or organized event.

03

Respect The Public

Avoid unnecessary public display of realistic equipment. Members of the public may not be able to distinguish airsoft equipment from something else.

Travel Information // Canada

Travel & Game Day

Travel requirements deserve their own check before every trip. Aviation-security requirements are separate from ordinary field rules and can change.

Important Travel Information

Air Travel & Replica Equipment

Current Canadian aviation-security guidance does not permit realistic replica firearms in carry-on baggage. Confirm any checked-baggage acceptance directly with the air carrier before travelling.

  • Check current CATSA information before travelling.
  • Consult your airline about checked-baggage acceptance.
  • Check separately for compressed-gas or other restricted items.
  • Verify current requirements before arriving at the airport.
!

Public Awareness Matters

Realistic airsoft equipment can be difficult for members of the public to identify. Avoid unnecessary public display and keep equipment appropriately contained during transportation.

New To Airsoft?

Parents & New Players

Airsoft is easier to understand when safety, supervision and field expectations are explained before game day.

Family Information

Parents & Guardians

Ask the facility about age policies, adult supervision, protective-equipment requirements, safety briefings and how activities are supervised before a younger player attends.

Beginner Information

Learn The Basics First

New players should start with protective equipment, facility rules, responsible behaviour, transportation awareness, designated safe areas and good sportsmanship.

CQC Knowledge Base // FAQ

Common Questions

Safety-first answers for players and parents. For legal or travel decisions, verify current information with the appropriate official authority.

Are the rules the same everywhere in Canada?
No. Requirements may depend on location, circumstances and applicable federal, provincial, municipal or facility rules.
Should realistic airsoft equipment be displayed in public?
Avoid unnecessary public display. Realistic equipment can cause alarm because members of the public may not be able to identify it as airsoft equipment.
Can realistic replicas go in carry-on baggage?
Current Canadian aviation-security guidance does not permit realistic replica firearms in carry-on baggage. Confirm checked-baggage acceptance directly with the air carrier.
Why do airsoft fields have different rules?
Facilities can have different layouts, environments, safety procedures and participation requirements. Follow the rules of the facility you are attending.
Is eye protection important?
Yes. Appropriate eye protection is fundamental to airsoft safety. Follow the protective-equipment requirements of your field or event.
When can protective equipment be removed?
Only where and when the field permits it. A game ending does not automatically make every area safe for removing required protection.
What should parents check before game day?
Confirm age rules, supervision requirements, protective equipment, the safety briefing process and how the facility supervises activities.
What should a beginner learn first?
Start with protective equipment, facility rules, responsible behaviour, transportation awareness, safe areas and good sportsmanship.
