Cybergun FN Licensed M249 MINIMI “Featherweight” Airsoft Machine Gun (Performance Plus Package)
Dominate the field with the Cybergun FN Licensed M249 MINIMI “Featherweight” Airsoft Machine Gun – the ultimate balance of realism, firepower, and mobility. Officially licensed by FN Herstal, this airsoft LMG offers the performance of the legendary M249 with a re-engineered lightweight build designed for maneuverability, endurance, and battlefield supremacy. Now featuring the Performance Plus Package, this version is pre-upgraded with a Dytac MOSFET for improved trigger response and electrical efficiency, and a Lambda precision inner barrel for consistent accuracy, tighter groupings, and extended range.
Traditionally, LMGs like the M249 have been known for their brute strength but come with a cost – weight. At nearly half the weight of traditional full-metal M249 platforms, the Featherweight series slims down to just 8.15 lbs (3700g) while still retaining incredible durability. How? The receiver, stock, top cover, and bipod are all crafted from fiber-reinforced nylon polymer, offering an exceptionally tough shell with drastically reduced fatigue for the user during extended operations.
Under the hood, this support gun comes equipped with a highly upgraded Version 2 metal gearbox, compatible with the Tokyo Marui M4 system, allowing easy upgrades, maintenance, and repairs. A quick-change spring system makes FPS tuning field-ready, and LiPo-ready internals ensure you can run high-output setups without sacrificing longevity or efficiency. This gearbox is filled with high-performance internals including an aluminum cylinder, high-compression polycarbonate piston set, and 18:1 sintered steel gears, ensuring smooth cycling and long-term reliability.
What really elevates the Performance Plus version is the pre-installed Dytac MOSFET. This advanced electronic unit not only enhances trigger response for faster shot-to-shot cycling but also protects your battery and internal wiring from overdraw and voltage spikes. Paired with the Lambda precision barrel (~340mm inner length), this gun achieves tight groupings, extended engagement range, and improved shot-to-shot consistency—key factors in any support gunner’s toolkit.
Another smart feature is magazine compatibility. Unlike many LMGs that require proprietary feed systems, this M249 Featherweight accepts standard M4/M16 AEG magazines, giving you the freedom to swap mags with teammates or utilize your existing loadout. It’s also compatible with A&K-style drum or box magazines, allowing you to scale your firepower to mission needs. Included is a 300-round M4-style magazine for ready-to-go operation.
Externally, the gun features a rotary dial adjustable hop-up for precision tuning, a folding adjustable bipod for prone support roles, and a 14mm negative thread on the barrel tip for mock suppressors or tracer units. The build keeps modularity in mind while embracing realism and function.
