Compact AK styling meets KWA gas blowback engineering.

The KWA AKG-74SU Airsoft Gas Blowback Rifle recreates the distinctive compact profile of the AKS-74U family in an airsoft platform built around mechanical operation, metal construction, and traditional AK-inspired details.

At its core is a full metal alloy receiver paired with gas-operated recoil blowback, a steel side-folding stock, AK dovetail side rail, nylon handguard, and faux bakelite-style pistol grip.

KWA also incorporates realistic-style disassembly and a dedicated demonstration mode that allows dry-fire operation, giving the AKG-74SU a more mechanically engaging experience than a conventional electric airsoft rifle.

For players and collectors looking for a compact AK gas blowback rifle rather than another M4-style GBBR, the KWA AKG-74SU brings together classic Eastern-inspired styling and KWA’s dedicated gas platform.

AKG-74SU

COMPACT AK CHARACTER.

The AKG-74SU is KWA’s airsoft interpretation of the compact AKS-74U-style platform.

Its shortened profile immediately distinguishes it from full-length AK-pattern rifles while retaining many of the design elements associated with the broader AK family.

The result is a compact airsoft rifle with a completely different personality from modern Western-style platforms.

Rather than covering the exterior in contemporary modular rails, KWA preserves the traditional character of the platform while incorporating an AK-style dovetail side rail for compatible mounting solutions.

FULL METAL RECEIVER

BUILT AROUND A SOLID FOUNDATION.

The centre of the AKG-74SU is its:

FULL METAL ALLOY RECEIVER

Metal construction gives the airsoft rifle a substantial feel and works naturally with its traditional AK-inspired exterior.

KWA combines the metal receiver with a steel side-folding stock, creating a build that emphasizes the mechanical nature of the platform.

The furniture uses different materials where appropriate, including a durable nylon handguard and magazine.

GAS BLOWBACK

FEEL THE ACTION CYCLE.

This is not an AEG.

The KWA AKG-74SU operates as a:

GAS BLOWBACK AIRSOFT RIFLE

The gas system cycles the action during operation, producing the moving-bolt action and recoil feedback associated with a GBBR.

That mechanical movement is one of the major differences between gas blowback and conventional electric airsoft rifles.

It gives the AKG-74SU a more engaging operating character while complementing the platform’s realistic-style construction.

As with all gas airsoft systems, performance can vary with temperature, gas condition, magazine seals, maintenance, and firing pace.

STEEL SIDE-FOLDING STOCK

COMPACT WHEN YOU WANT IT.

At the rear, KWA equips the rifle with a:

TACTICAL STEEL SIDE-FOLDING STOCK

The folding design complements the compact nature of the AKG-74SU while maintaining the traditional skeletal-stock appearance associated with this style of AK platform.

Integrated sling attachment points are also built into the rifle, providing mounting locations for appropriately compatible airsoft sling hardware.

The combination of compact dimensions and folding-stock design is a major part of what gives the AKG-74SU its recognizable silhouette.

FAUX BAKELITE

CLASSIC AK-INSPIRED DETAILING.

The pistol grip features a:

FAUX BAKELITE-STYLE FINISH

This gives the rifle another visual connection to classic AK furniture without using actual bakelite material.

Paired with the black receiver, nylon handguard, and steel folding stock, the grip adds a contrasting heritage-inspired detail to the overall build.

It’s a small feature—but one that makes a noticeable difference to the rifle’s appearance.

AK DOVETAIL SIDE RAIL

TRADITIONAL MOUNTING INTERFACE.

Rather than replacing the classic AK layout with a full-length modern upper rail, KWA incorporates an:

AK DOVETAIL SIDE RAIL

The receiver-mounted interface allows the use of appropriately compatible AK-style airsoft optic mounts and accessory-mounting solutions.

Because AK side-mount specifications and individual accessories can vary, exact mount compatibility should always be confirmed before purchase.

REALISTIC-STYLE CONSTRUCTION

DESIGNED AROUND THE AK PLATFORM.

KWA designed the AKG-74SU to provide a mechanical layout and field-stripping experience inspired by the AK platform.

For an airsoft collector, this gives the rifle more character than an exterior shell built around a conventional AEG gearbox.

The gas system, moving action, receiver construction, folding stock, and controls all contribute to the platform’s more mechanical feel.

It remains an airsoft replica, however, and should only be operated and maintained according to KWA’s airsoft-specific instructions.

DEMONSTRATION MODE

DRY-FIRE FUNCTIONALITY.

The AKG-74SU includes a useful:

DEMONSTRATION / DRY-FIRE MODE

This feature allows the gas blowback action to be cycled without loading BBs.

It provides a way to demonstrate the rifle’s gas blowback operation without normal BB feeding.

Always treat the airsoft rifle responsibly even when using demonstration mode, and follow KWA’s handling and safety instructions.

WHY THE KWA AKG-74SU STANDS OUT

Full Metal Alloy Receiver — substantial construction at the heart of the rifle.

Gas Blowback Operation — moving action and recoil feedback provide a distinctive GBBR experience.

Steel Folding Stock — reinforces the compact AK-style configuration.

AK Dovetail Side Rail — supports appropriately compatible AK-style mounting systems.

Faux Bakelite Grip — adds classic-inspired visual character.

Realistic-Style Disassembly — creates a more mechanically engaging airsoft platform.

Demonstration Mode — allows dry-fire operation without normal BB feeding.

GAS BLOWBACK // IMPORTANT NOTE

Gas blowback airsoft rifles operate differently from electric AEGs. Temperature, magazine seals, gas condition, maintenance, and firing pace can influence performance.

Use only manufacturer-recommended gas and maintenance procedures, and confirm the rifle’s output with an approved airsoft chronograph before field use.

Replacement magazines and internal components should also be verified specifically for the KWA AKG platform rather than assuming compatibility with other AK-style gas blowback systems.

KWA AKG-74SU

CLASSIC AK FORM. GAS BLOWBACK CHARACTER.

The KWA AKG-74SU Airsoft Gas Blowback GBB Rifle – Black delivers something increasingly distinctive in the airsoft market: a compact AK-style platform built around genuine gas blowback operation rather than a conventional electric gearbox.

Its combination of a full metal alloy receiver, gas-operated recoil blowback system, steel side-folding stock, AK dovetail rail, nylon handguard and magazine, faux bakelite pistol grip, integrated sling points, realistic-style construction, field stripping, and dedicated demonstration mode gives the rifle a strong mechanical identity.

For customers searching for a KWA AKG-74SU, AK gas blowback airsoft rifle, AKS-74U-style GBBR, full metal AK airsoft rifle, KWA gas blowback AK, folding stock airsoft AK, or KWA AKG-74SU Canada, this compact GBB platform combines classic-inspired AK styling with the engaging operation of KWA gas blowback.
