NOVRITSCH SSQ4 HPA / GAS BLOWBACK AIRSOFT RIFLE
Convertible HPA & GBBR Platform • Integrated NPAS • TDC Hop-Up • Full Metal • 464FPS • 20 RPS
ONE RIFLE // TWO POWER SYSTEMS // HPA PERFORMANCE // GBBR REALISM
Meet a new generation of adaptable gas-powered airsoft rifles with the Novritsch SSQ4 HPA / Gas Blowback Rifle—a purpose-built platform designed to combine the consistency and capacity of HPA with the mechanical experience of a traditional GBBR.
Available in HPA and gas blowback configurations out of the box, the SSQ4 is designed around a convertible system that allows the platform to move between HPA and GBBR configurations with the appropriate components. Add a half-bolt system, integrated NPAS power adjustment, tool-less TDC hop-up, Maple Leaf 60° bucking, ambidextrous controls, full-metal construction, and up to 20 RPS, and you have a rifle built for players who want serious tuning potential without starting from a custom build.
Finished in a distinctive bronze colour, the SSQ4 looks as different as it operates.
01 // HPA & GBBR – ONE CONVERTIBLE PLATFORM
The defining feature of the Novritsch SSQ4 is its dual-system design.
The SSQ4 is offered in both HPA and gas blowback variants, while the underlying platform is designed to be convertible between the two configurations using the appropriate components.
Choose HPA when you want increased ammunition capacity and regulated external-air performance, or configure the platform around gas magazines for the traditional GBBR experience.
The HPA version incorporates its HPA module directly into the rifle and comes with a US-spec HPA connector.
This modular approach gives the SSQ4 a unique position for players who appreciate both styles of airsoft operation.
02 // HALF-BOLT GAS BLOWBACK SYSTEM
Novritsch designed the SSQ4 around a half-bolt operating system.
Reducing the mass and travel of the cycling assembly helps create a fast, snappy blowback action while focusing on gas efficiency.
The result is a rifle designed to provide satisfying mechanical feedback without requiring an unnecessarily heavy full-length bolt assembly.
With a firing rate of up to approximately 20 rounds per second, the SSQ4 is built around responsive cycling and fast follow-up shots.
03 // INTEGRATED NPAS POWER ADJUSTMENT
Different airsoft fields have different power limits, and the SSQ4 addresses this with an integrated NPAS – Negative Pressure Air System.
The NPAS provides adjustable power output, allowing the rifle to be tuned rather than permanently locked into a single output level.
An NPAS Allen key is included in the box for adjustment.
Novritsch notes that its stated joule variants are measured using 0.32g BBs and that power remains adjustable.
After making any power adjustment, always chronograph the rifle using your intended BB weight and ensure it complies with your field’s joule and FPS requirements.
04 // TOOL-LESS TDC CLICK HOP-UP
Hop-up adjustment is made exceptionally accessible on the SSQ4.
Instead of requiring the rifle to be opened or reaching deep inside the receiver, the rifle uses a tool-less TDC click-based hop-up adjustment located on the top rail.
TDC—or Top Dead Center—applies adjustment directly from above the hop-up system.
The click-based design also makes incremental adjustments easier to track when tuning the rifle for different BB weights and field conditions.
05 // MAPLE LEAF 60° BUCKING
The SSQ4 comes equipped from the factory with a Maple Leaf 60° hop-up bucking.
This setup is designed with heavier BB use in mind, complementing the rifle’s precision-focused adjustable hop-up system.
For players who regularly tune their rifles around heavier BB weights for outdoor use, having a quality bucking already installed reduces the need to immediately replace one of the most important components affecting BB flight.
Proper BB weight and hop adjustment should still be matched to your rifle’s actual power level.
06 // 125RD HPA OR 32RD GAS MAGAZINES
Magazine configuration depends on how you choose to run the SSQ4.
The HPA configuration uses a 125-round mid-cap magazine, providing considerably more ammunition capacity for longer engagements.
The gas configuration uses a 32-round real-cap gas magazine, providing the lower-capacity magazine management associated with traditional GBBR gameplay.
This difference reinforces the SSQ4’s dual personality:
HPA for capacity and regulated performance. GBBR for realistic magazine operation and gas-powered gameplay.
07 // FULL-METAL CONSTRUCTION
The SSQ4 isn’t built around a lightweight polymer receiver.
It features solid full-metal construction combined with steel controls and trigger internals, creating a premium external and mechanical foundation.
The distinctive bronze finish further separates the rifle from conventional black airsoft platforms.
Novritsch has also designed the rifle with extensive spare-parts support, making long-term servicing and maintenance an important part of the SSQ4 ecosystem.
08 // COMPLETELY AMBIDEXTROUS
The SSQ4 is designed to be fully ambidextrous, making important controls accessible regardless of which side of the rifle you’re operating from.
This provides more natural handling for left-handed players while also giving right-handed players greater flexibility when manipulating the rifle from unconventional positions.
The rear of the rifle is also prepared for a Picatinny folding-stock adapter, providing additional customization possibilities.
09 // SMART ERGONOMIC DETAILS
Small features can make a major difference on a rifle designed by experienced airsoft players.
The SSQ4 grip incorporates a beavertail profile and an internal magnet designed to provide convenient storage for small tools.
It’s a simple idea, but it fits the overall philosophy behind the platform: make routine adjustment and maintenance easier at the field.
The SSQ4 was designed by airsoft players in Vienna, Austria, with technical support and a dedicated video academy available through Novritsch.

IMPORTANT OPERATING NOTES
For the gas version, Novritsch recommends avoiding trigger pulls without a magazine inserted because the magazine provides support for the valve-knocker system.
For the HPA version, follow the manufacturer’s procedure when connecting the air system and review the SSQ4 safety documentation before use. HPA systems involve high-pressure equipment and should only be operated with properly rated components and within manufacturer specifications.
The HPA bolt-lock function may not operate perfectly when brand new because the system is primarily tuned around the gas configuration. Novritsch states that lockback performance can improve after the break-in period.
FINAL WORD // TWO SYSTEMS. ONE SSQ4.
The Novritsch SSQ4 HPA / Gas Blowback Airsoft Rifle takes a different approach to the modern GBBR by giving players a platform designed around both gas and HPA operation.
Its combination of HPA/GBBR convertibility, half-bolt operation, integrated NPAS, tool-less TDC hop-up, Maple Leaf 60° bucking, 125-round HPA or 32-round gas magazine options, 20 RPS capability, full-metal construction, ambidextrous controls, bronze finish, and dedicated spare-parts ecosystem makes the SSQ4 one of the more versatile platforms in the Novritsch rifle lineup.
Run it as a traditional GBBR. Configure it around HPA. Tune the power and hop for your field.
