ESSENTIAL GEAR. PURPOSEFUL DESIGN.
Classic reconnaissance-inspired styling meets modern airsoft load-bearing versatility.
The Matrix Special Operations RRV Style Chest Rig – Arid Camo combines lightweight construction, organized equipment storage, and a classic reconnaissance-inspired silhouette in a practical tactical-style vest for recreational airsoft.
Inspired by the Rhodesian Reconnaissance Vest (RRV), this modern interpretation retains the straightforward layout and accessible storage that made traditional chest rigs recognizable.
Designed for players who prefer carrying essential equipment without the bulk of a full-size plate carrier, the Matrix RRV offers a compact, low-profile alternative with integrated magazine pouches, a utility pouch, radio storage, and an administrative panel.
Four front magazine pouches provide a combined capacity of up to eight M4/M16-style airsoft magazines, while the integrated general-purpose pouch offers additional storage for smaller field essentials.
Finished in Arid Camo, the rig combines a desert-inspired camouflage appearance with a functional MOLLE-compatible platform.
LIGHTWEIGHT PROFILE. // ORGANIZED STORAGE. // CLASSIC RRV HERITAGE.
01 // CLASSIC RRV-INSPIRED ARCHITECTURE
Traditional design. Contemporary utility.
The Matrix Special Operations Chest Rig takes inspiration from the historic Rhodesian Reconnaissance Vest design.
The RRV concept evolved from earlier chest-carried equipment systems associated with the 1970s and 1980s.
Matrix’s interpretation maintains the recognizable front-mounted storage arrangement while incorporating modern recreational airsoft equipment features.
The result is a streamlined chest rig that balances heritage-inspired styling with practical organization.
Its uncomplicated design appeals to players who prefer accessible storage over oversized equipment configurations.
02 // LIGHTWEIGHT, LOW-PROFILE CONSTRUCTION
Carry the essentials without unnecessary bulk.
The Matrix RRV is designed around a lightweight, low-profile configuration.
Rather than using a large vest body, its chest-rig architecture concentrates storage into a compact front-mounted layout.
This design makes it suitable for recreational airsoft players who prefer a minimalist equipment setup.
The reduced-profile appearance also complements lightweight outdoor and tactical-inspired clothing.
Actual comfort and fit depend on the wearer’s dimensions and the equipment carried.
MINIMALIST DESIGN. // COMPACT STORAGE. // RECREATIONAL AIRSOFT READY.
03 // EIGHT-MAGAZINE STORAGE CAPACITY
Four integrated front magazine pouches.
The Matrix RRV includes four magazine pouches across the front.
Together, these pouches are designed to accommodate up to eight M4/M16-style airsoft magazines.
This integrated arrangement keeps the rig’s primary storage concentrated in one organized section.
Magazine fit may vary depending on individual magazine dimensions, baseplates, and manufacturer specifications.
The listed capacity applies to compatible M4/M16-style magazines and should not be assumed for every airsoft magazine design.
04 // GENERAL-PURPOSE UTILITY POUCH
Secure storage for smaller essentials.
An integrated general-purpose pouch provides additional storage beyond the magazine compartments.
It features a drawstring closure at the opening and a folding flap secured with a buckle.
This dual-closure arrangement is intended to help retain smaller items during normal recreational activity.
The pouch is suitable for compatible everyday field essentials, subject to its dimensions.
Its inclusion adds useful versatility without requiring an entirely separate utility pouch.
05 // RADIO & ADMIN ORGANIZATION
Dedicated compartments for practical accessories.
The Matrix RRV includes a standard-style radio pouch and an integrated administrative panel.
The admin pouch features map pockets, offering dedicated storage for compact documents and similar accessories.
It also includes a pistol magazine pouch for a compatible airsoft pistol magazine.
Hook-and-loop material on the admin panel provides space for name tapes and identification patches.
Together, these compartments create a practical organizational layout for recreational airsoft equipment.
06 // FULL MOLLE COMPATIBILITY
Modular expansion within a compact platform.
The Matrix Special Operations RRV features full MOLLE compatibility.
MOLLE webbing supports compatible modular pouches and accessories, allowing the rig to accommodate different recreational equipment preferences.
This adds flexibility to the integrated storage layout while preserving the chest rig’s classic appearance.
Individual pouch and accessory compatibility should be verified.
The MOLLE system makes the Matrix RRV a versatile alternative to fixed-storage chest rigs without modular attachment capability.
